Malcolm has gone a perfect 4-0 against Raymond Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Clippers will host the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Malcolm comes in on four and Raymond Central on three.
Malcolm's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Arlington as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Clippers, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Gavin Little's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Justin Wisnieski was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Nolan Duzik, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Malcolm was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Raymond Central came out on top against Louisville on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Mustangs took their game against the Lions 8-5.
Wyatt Jelinek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Jelinek was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Teijan Novak was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Raymond Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Watkins, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Raymond Central's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Malcolm, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Malcolm has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Raymond Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Malcolm got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Raymond Central by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Clippers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
