Softball Recap: Geneva Takes a Loss

Geneva fell victim to Perry and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 back in April.

Geneva saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caidyn Siegel, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Geneva now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Perry, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Geneva will challenge South at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Perry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conneaut at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Pirates' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Spartans have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
