Softball Recap: Aubrey Comes Up Short

Aubrey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gonzales Apaches.

Alivia Stewart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.

Aubrey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gonzales, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

Aubrey will face off against Hallettsville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Gonzales, they will take on Franklin in a tournament on Saturday.
