Volleyball Recap: Telluride Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Telluride had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Salida Spartans 3-0. For the Miners, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

One reason for the win was Telluride's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-22, 25-18.

Delia Noel paced Telluride's offense, picking up 11 kills. Noel got some help from Hazel Noel and her 14 assists. Delia also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lori Gleria, racking up two apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Salida lost, don't look at Cooper Fisher. Despite the final result, she had 32 digs and one assist.

Salida's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Telluride didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Buena Vista on the 23rd. As for Salida, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mancos on the 23rd.
