Recap: Athens vs. Huntsville
The Athens Golden Eagles fell victim to the Huntsville Panthers's stalwart defense on Monday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 4-0 walloping at the hands of the Panthers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Athens in their matchups with Huntsville: they've now lost three in a row.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 6-3-3. As for Huntsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens will challenge Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Huntsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Grissom at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
