Basketball Recap: Wesley Dresselhaus' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity over Durham

Trinity and Durham squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Trinity had to settle for second. They came up short against the Durham Trojans, falling 70-44. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-21 back in December of 2024.

Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Wesley Dresselhaus, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points and five rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Ryker Robles, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Trinity has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season. Durham pushed their record up to 25-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Durham, they will challenge Portola at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Portola's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
