Football Recap: Huntington Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Huntington finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Unioto Shermans. The Huntsmen have struggled against the Shermans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

It was another big night for Cody Braden, who rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on only ten carries for Unioto. Another player making a difference was Isaac Coy, who threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Unioto, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington will host Zane Trace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers' defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so the Huntsmen's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Unioto, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Piketon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
