Basketball Recap: Windsor Academy Beats Gatewood for Their Third Straight Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Windsor Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gatewood Gators, sneaking past 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since February 3, 2025.

Windsor Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Swain out in front who posted 16 points and three steals. Swain is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Greg Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 16 rebounds.

Gatewood lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lake Ferman, who earned 13 points and eight boards. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Haley, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.

The win (which was Windsor Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 9-10. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Gatewood, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Windsor Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-42 loss against Brentwood on the 23rd. As for Gatewood, they have also already played their next contest, an 80-63 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 23rd.
