League recap: Lafayette Central Catholic first in Hoosier at 3-0

Hoosier league recap: 5/7/12

Lafayette Central Catholic currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the league. Tri-Central is 3.50 games back and in second place with a 1-7 league record.

The Trojans were rewarded for compiling a 1-1 record last week by moving from seventh to second in the standings.

Tri-Central boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Trojans have given up a mere 121 hits on the year in addition to compiling 100 strikeouts. Kody Key is the leader in that category with 41 Ks on the season.

Tri-Central's David Carr led the league with six hits this week. He is eighth in the league with seven hits this year, and has a .200 batting average.
