Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Wylie's Winning Streak

If Wylie was feeling good fresh off their 64-28 takedown of Arlington Heights on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wylie Bulldogs fell 55-42 to the Dawson Eagles on Friday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Dawson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylynn Perez-Richard, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Perez-Richard a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Journey Lovett, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Wylie's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Dawson, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Wylie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-34 victory against A&M Consolidated on the 27th. As for Dawson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 34-31 loss against North Crowley on the 27th.
