Football Recap: Darius Denmark's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Teaneck over Pascack Valley

Teaneck made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pascack Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Highwaymen fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 29-26 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Highwaymen in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Teaneck's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Denmark, who picked up 93 receiving yards and one touchdown. Denmark was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 67 yards. Demetrius Owens also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.

Teaneck didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Leading the way was Bryce Phillip and his one interception.

Teaneck now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Pascack Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Teaneck wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 39-20 win against Pascack Hills on the 19th. As for Pascack Valley, they will be playing at home against Northern Highlands at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
