Basketball Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on White County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lanier Christian Academy). They walked away with a 79-71 win over the White County Warriors on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lightning as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lanier Christian Academy was led to victory by Xavier Barber and Mekhi Barber. Xavier shot 53% from the field on his way to 28 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds, while Mekhi went 13-for-24 to rack up 32 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Mekhi has scored at least a third of the Lightning's points. Tucker Bolstrom was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lanier Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for White County, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Lanier Christian Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lakeview Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1. As for White County, they will challenge Creekview at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
