The Barrington Fillies/Broncos will venture away from home to take on the New Trier Trevians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Barrington had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Elk Grove on Thursday. The Fillies/Broncos were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Grenadiers. The win was familiar territory for the Fillies/Broncos, who have now won five contests in a row.

Barrington got a big performance out of Peter Ensign, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Ensign a new career-high. Jackson Cavaliero also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Barrington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, New Trier got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Glenbrook North. The Trevians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Henrik Conniff tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Caiden Carpenter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Cj Donnelly, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Barrington pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for New Trier, their record now sits at 11-4-1.
Barrington couldn't quite finish off New Trier in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Fillies/Broncos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
