Baseball Game Preview: San Dimas Saints vs. Montebello Oilers

The San Dimas Saints will head out to face off against the Montebello Oilers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for San Dimas' offense. They fell just short of Bishop Amat by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Montebello came up short against Arcadia on Wednesday and fell 7-3. The Oilers haven't had much luck with the Apaches recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Aaron Vallejo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Cervantes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

San Dimas' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Montebello, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

San Dimas came up short against Montebello in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, falling 6-3. Can San Dimas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
