Volleyball Recap: Gilmer Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Gilmer faced off against Union County on Saturday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Gilmer's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Union County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Gilmer will face off against Northwest Whitfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games the Bruins have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Union County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Gainesville on the 20th.
