Murphy found a leader in Colton Morgan as the team took down Cherokee on Monday. Morgan was dynamite, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Morgan's strong effort led Murphy over Cherokee and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Murphy is a perfect 10-0 against Cherokee going back to April of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
