Softball Game Preview: Pine City Dragons vs. Mora Mustangs

Pine City hasn't had much luck against Mora recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Pine City has given up an average of 14.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pine City came up short against Rush City on Tuesday, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Mora ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Milaca 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 24, 2025.

The win made it two in a row for Mora and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Pine City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Pine City suffered a grim 27-20 defeat to Mora in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
