Softball Recap: Rogers Find Success

While Rogers's victory against Ottawa Hills wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams skirted past the Green Bears 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Green Bears: they've now won six in a row.

Rylie Mundt was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Mundt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Zyla Hill was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Da'Mya Boles, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Rogers' record now sits at 7-8. As for Ottawa Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Rogers will challenge Lima Senior at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Ottawa Hills, they are taking a road trip to challenge Stryker at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
