Basketball Recap: Making Waves Academy Comes Up Short

Making Waves Academy lost against Redwood Christian last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Making Waves Academy Marlins fell to the Redwood Christian Eagles 60-55. While losing is never fun, the Marlins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 928th, while the Eagles are ranked 416th).

Leading Redwood Christian to victory were David Rogers and Nehemiah Mitchell. Rogers dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds, while Mitchell posted 17 points and four steals. The matchup was Rogers' 17th in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Hubbard, who earned eight points in addition to 15 boards and eight blocks.

Making Waves Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Redwood Christian, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 25-3.

As of now, neither Making Waves Academy nor Redwood Christian have any future games scheduled.
