Basketball Recap: Chino Valley Cougars vs. Winslow Bulldogs

Chino Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 64-42 to the Winslow Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Chino Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ben Sibole, who scored 11 points along with two steals, and Landon Smith, who had eight points plus seven rebounds and two blocks. Matthew Sibole was another key player, posting seven points.

Isaac David had an outrageously good game for Winslow as he went 10 for 12 en route to 20 points plus eight rebounds and six assists. What's more, David also posted a 83% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jace Smith, who earned eight points in addition to four steals.

Chino Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Highland Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Winslow has already played their next matchup, a 65-55 victory against Monument Valley on the 22nd.
