Bloomfield had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Winona on Friday. Bloomfield put the hurt on Winona with a sharp 15-5 victory. Bloomfield not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 16-1).

Meanwhile, Alton was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They blew past Ellington 13-3. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Whippets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Emma Cauthen spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.
