Baseball Recap: Lone Tree Takes a Loss

Lone Tree managed to slip by Winfield-Mt. Union the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Wolves on Friday, falling 10-1. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Lone Tree has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Winfield-Mt. Union, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lone Tree will head out to take on Danville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Winfield-Mt. Union, they will square off against Mediapolis at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
