Basketball Recap: Crookston Comes Up Short

Crookston lost against Barnesville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Crookston Pirates had to suffer through a 78-51 loss at the hands of the Barnesville Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Trojans are ranked 49th).

Crookston's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Barnesville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Crookston will challenge Fosston at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Barnesville, they will take on Park Rapids at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Barnesville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
