Volleyball Game Preview: Walther Christian Academy Broncos vs. Montini Catholic Broncos

Walther Christian Academy will face off against Montini Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Walther Christian Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Cristo Rey Jesuit just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Cristeros.

Walther Christian Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Montini Catholic came up short against Chicago Mt. Carmel on Thursday and fell 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Caravan: they've now lost five in a row.

While Montini Catholic had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20.

Montini Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Walther Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-9.
