Basketball Recap: Andover Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Kapaun Mt. Carmel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Andover Central). They secured a 76-71 W over the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Jaguars who have now won three matchups in a row.

Andover Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylin Tabor out in front who went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 28 points and seven assists. Those 28 points gave Tabor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Converse, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds.

Tabor wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Andover Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Andover Central's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andover Central will square off against Andover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they will challenge Heights on Tuesday.
