Recap: Norfolk Christian Ambassadors vs. Christchurch School Seahorses
If the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors were riding high off their 62-40 takedown of the Summit Christian Academy Eagles last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between Norfolk Christian and Christchurch School wasn't particularly close, with Norfolk Christian falling 68-51. If Norfolk Christian hoped to take revenge for the 72-37 defeat against they when the teams met on Friday, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the defeat, Norfolk Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jalen Freeman scored 25 points. Freeman hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brandon Giddens, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Norfolk Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Christchurch School, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Norfolk Christian will head out on the road to face off against Steward at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Steward presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Norfolk Christian in Virginia (Steward is ranked 33rd, while Norfolk Christian is ranked 174th). As for Christchurch School, they will be playing at home against Grace Christian School at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
