Basketball Recap: Lourdes Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Lourdes Central Catholic entered their game against Elmwood-Murdock on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lourdes Central Catholic Knights were outmatched by the Elmwood-Murdock Knights and fell 54-27. The matchup marked Lourdes Central Catholic's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elmwood-Murdock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Goudie, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zoe Zierott, who posted nine points and five steals.

Lourdes Central Catholic's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3. As for Elmwood-Murdock, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Lourdes Central Catholic will challenge Sterling on Tuesday. Elmwood-Murdock has already played their next game, a 62-37 victory against Fillmore Central on the 25th.
