Basketball Recap: Marquette Gets the Win

Marquette took a 30-point defeat the last time they faced off against Alburnett, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Marquette Defenders had just enough and edged the Alburnett Pirates out 48-45. The Defenders haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Marquette pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Alburnett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alburnett, they are taking a road trip to take on Wilton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
