Softball Recap: West Lafayette Takes a Loss

West Lafayette lost against Rensselaer Central on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Devils took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bombers. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kerrigan Gooden was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Paola Eifler also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

West Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Rensselaer Central, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, West Lafayette will take on Benton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rensselaer Central, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Winamac at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
