Volleyball Recap: Hartford Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Cedarburg

Hartford faced Cedarburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Orioles fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-16.

Alex Hoffmann paced Hartford's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hoffmann got some help from Jake Otto and his 33 assists. Otto was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Hartford's defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-12. As for Cedarburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Hartford will face off against Madison La Follette at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cedarburg, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Nicolet at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th.
