Volleyball Recap: Merced Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Merced kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Escalon Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Merced took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 11-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-12.

The victory got Escalon back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Merced will square off against Bear River at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Escalon, they will face off against El Capitan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
