Basketball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge Panthers vs. Granbury Pirates

The Fossil Ridge Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Granbury Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fossil Ridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Fossil Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Saginaw as they won 53-35. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Granbury was able to grind out a solid win over Chisholm Trail on Saturday, taking the game 53-43.

Fossil Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Granbury, their record now sits at 16-11.

Fossil Ridge strolled past Granbury in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 65-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fossil Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
