Basketball Recap: Holmes Aces vs. Currituck County Knights

Holmes unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 78-44 loss at the hands of the Currituck County Knights on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Several Aces players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tucker Baldwin, who posted 15 points. Baldwin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. The win made it two in a row for Currituck County and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Holmes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-37 victory against Bear Grass Charter on the 15th.
