Softball Recap: Emery Triumphs

Emery hadn't done well against Carbon recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Emery Spartans were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Carbon Dinos. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kallee Lake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Bailey Luke was a standout: she scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Kali Jensen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Emery's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Emery will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Richfield at 3:30 p.m. As for Carbon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
