Football Recap: Simpson Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Simpson Academy's offense. They were beaten by the Copiah Academy Colonels 35-0 on Friday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Braxton Baldwin threw for 119 yards on 12 of 19 attempts. Kolt Walker was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.

Simpson Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Copiah Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Simpson Academy and Copiah Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Simpson Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Brookhaven Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Copiah Academy will challenge rival Jackson Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
