Basketball Game Preview: Scotts Valley Falcons vs. Aptos Mariners

The Scotts Valley Falcons will head out to take on the Aptos Mariners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scotts Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

On Saturday, Scotts Valley beat Woodside 56-48. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Wildcats are ranked 869th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Aptos played a tough contest last Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. 2025 welcomed they with a 53-29 loss courtesy of Prospect. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Scotts Valley, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Scotts Valley came up short against Aptos in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 62-53. Can Scotts Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
