Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Francis Lewis' 12th in Last 15 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Newtown, Francis Lewis was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Madison Golden Knights 12-2. Considering the Patriots have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jovi Chau-Gandelman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Frederick Cartha, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Renos Pagiatakas, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Francis Lewis has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

As of now, neither Francis Lewis nor the Golden Knights have any future games scheduled.
