Abilene and Cooper are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Abilene Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Cooper Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Abilene will be strutting in after a win while Cooper will be coming in after a loss.

Abilene is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Memorial, sneaking past 39-37.

Meanwhile, Cooper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 58-42 bruising from Wylie. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 707th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 257th).

Abilene's win bumped their record up to 19-12. As for Cooper, their loss dropped their record down to 8-17.

Abilene beat Cooper 60-53 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Abilene since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
