Volleyball Recap: Gillespie Comes Up Short

Gillespie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

Gillespie's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10-1 record this season.

Gillespie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Decatur Eisenhower on the 4th. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Calhoun on the 4th.
