Softball Recap: Whiteland Triumphs

Whiteland proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Perry Meridian Falcons 1-0. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Not much got past Jordyn Crouch, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Perry Meridian off the board. Crouch has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Whiteland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Sullivan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Whiteland's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Perry Meridian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Whiteland beat the Falcons by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.
