Baseball Game Preview: Winters Warriors vs. Live Oak Lions

Winters has gone a perfect 10-0 against Live Oak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Winters will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Winters' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Durham with a sharp 11-0 victory.

Everett Beason was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miles Mariani, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Winters hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Live Oak, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They had just enough and edged out Biggs 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Live Oak's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Ramirez, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Winters pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Live Oak, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Winters took their win against Live Oak when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
