Volleyball Recap: Imperial Comes Up Short

Imperial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Central Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Imperial was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Central work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-16, 25-20.

Imperial's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Central, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Imperial will welcome Calexico at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest EC at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
