Soccer Game Preview: Lynden vs. Burlington-Edison

The Lynden Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Burlington-Edison Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lynden will be strutting in after a win while Burlington-Edison will be coming in after a loss.

Lynden had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the six-goal drubbing they dealt Blaine on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Borderites. Considering Lynden have won three contests by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Burlington-Edison faced off against Lakewood on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2.

Lynden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-1-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four games. As for Burlington-Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-3.

Lynden came up short against Burlington-Edison when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
