Football Game Preview: Governor Livingston Highlanders vs. Bernards Mountaineers + How To Watch

Governor Livingston is 0-5 against Bernards since October of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Highlanders are taking a road trip to square off against the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Governor Livingston came up short against Voorhees and fell 21-14.

Despite the loss, Governor Livingston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elijah Garcia rushed for 148 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Those 148 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Garcia.

Meanwhile, Bernards is still undefeated this season after their game against Summit on Saturday, but Summit came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Mountaineers skirted past the Hilltoppers 17-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mountaineers have posted since November 2, 2024.

Governor Livingston now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Bernards, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Governor Livingston was taken down by Bernards 34-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Mountaineers' Nolan Walsh, who threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
