Basketball Game Preview: Hanson Beavers vs. Freeman Flyers

Hanson has gone a perfect 10-0 against Freeman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hanson Beavers will venture away from home to face off against the Freeman Flyers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Hanson earned a 60-53 victory over Mt. Vernon/Plankinton. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Beavers.

Meanwhile, Freeman waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 80-72 win over the Cubs.

Freeman's win came from a few key players Hanson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tate Sorensen, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 29 points and eight rebounds. Those 29 points gave him a new career-high. David Walter was another key player, going 8 of 12 to rack up 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Freeman was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Freeman's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Hanson, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Hanson strolled past Freeman in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 69-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
