Cordova took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hayden, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 6-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Blue Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Cordova got a massive performance out of Ella Grace Madison, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Madison has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Black, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Cordova's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Hayden, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 19-15 record.
Looking ahead, Cordova will venture away from home to square off against Dora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hayden, they will square off against West Point at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
