Basketball Recap: Streamwood Piles Up the Points Against Elgin

Streamwood won the last time they faced Elgin and things went their way on Friday too. The Streamwood Sabres took their game with ease, bagging a 51-21 win over the Elgin Maroons. That looming 51-21 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sabres yet this season.

Streamwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Byron Walton led the charge by putting up eight points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Walton a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Aden Strong, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Streamwood's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Elgin, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Streamwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 88-40 loss against West Aurora on the 11th. As for Elgin, they will challenge South Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
