Basketball Recap: Thurston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Woodhaven last Tuesday, Thurston came back down to earth. The Thurston Eagles took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crestwood Chargers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Chargers are ranked 372nd).

Thurston's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Crestwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Thurston will challenge Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Crestwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crestwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Trenton likes a good challenge.
