Volleyball Recap: Ridgeview Falls Despite Big Games from Brooklyn Ruffus and Sky Dubon + How To Watch

After flying high against North on Tuesday, Ridgeview came back down to earth. The Wolf Pack fell just short of the Golden Valley Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Wolf Pack didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-21 in the first set.

Ridgeview was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Golden Valley work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-15, 15-13.

Ridgeview's loss came despite strong showings from Sky Dubon and Brooklyn Ruffus. Dubon had 20 kills and three aces, while Ruffus had 17 kills, three aces, and two blocks. Dubon is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Golden Valley found their leader in sophomore Esmeralda Frausto, who had 15 digs and six aces. Frausto also set a new season-high mark in assists with 23.

Ridgeview suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Golden Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-8-1.

Ridgeview has already played their next matchup (against Mira Monte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Golden Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Wonderful College Prep Academy on the 5th.
