Basketball Game Preview: Longmont Trojans vs. Skyline Falcons

The Longmont Trojans will face off against the Skyline Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Longmont is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Broomfield just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 69-49 to the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Trojans have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Skyline managed to keep up with Monarch until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Skyline came up short against Monarch, falling 77-53. The Falcons were down 67-42 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Skyline now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Longmont, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.

Everything came up roses for Longmont against Skyline in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, as the squad secured a 61-28 win. In that game, Longmont amassed a halftime lead of 38-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
